1969: Merle Hough Landscaping
Hough, Inc. was started in 1969 by Merle Hough and Evelyn “Cindy” Hough under the name: Merle Hough Landscaping. Initially, company projects consisted mainly of labor intensive type of work such as dock installation, tree removal and various landscape installations.
1990: Hough Landscaping, Inc.
In 1984, the company was incorporated, and, in 1990, the company name changed to Hough Landscaping, Inc. Throughout the 80’s and early 90’s, company projects began to change in nature from the earlier, labor intensive type of work, to more machine work requiring earthmoving and demolition types.
1999: Hough, Inc.
In 1999, Michael Hough became company President, and the company name was changed to Hough, Inc.
2009: Celebrating Our 30-Year Heritage
Today, company projects consist mainly of earthwork, underground sanitary and storm sewer, and water utility installation and demolition for private and public clients throughout Northwest Minnesota and Eastern North Dakota. Company owned and leased gravel pits and demolition landfill, the Lakes Area Demolition Facility, compliment these operations.
In addition to contracting work, Hough, Inc. supplies boulders, aggregates, topsoils and mulches. Furthermore, a full-line of Anchor Block and Borgert Products is offered for wholesale and retail sale.
